Oberlin Shansi is a non-profit organization that supports international educational and cultural exchange between Asia and Oberlin College, focusing on China, India, Indonesia, and Japan. This is a full-time 12-month Administrative and Professional Staff entry-level position reporting to the Assistant Director of Oberlin Shansi.\u00a0 The initial appointment is for two years, beginning on September 1, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The Campus and Outreach Coordinator will play a key role in expanding Shansi relationships and outreach with local, national, and international partners. This will include <!--more-->developing, maintaining, and expanding Shansi\u2019s tools for managing key relationships with former Fellows, Oberlin College, Shansi Friends, international partner institutions, Northern Ohio partners, and others. The Campus and Outreach Coordinator will have primary responsibility for managing the Shansi website and social media presence on sites such as Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn; will support various reports and publications through writing and editing; and will provide staffing support for Shansi fundraising and outreach efforts.\u00a0 The Campus and Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for promoting Oberlin Shansi programs on the Oberlin College campus; managing logistics for Shansi campus and local events such as symposia, guest lectures, and performances; and staffing the Shansi Board of Trustees\u2019 Oberlin Committee.\u00a0 The Campus and Outreach Coordinator will work closely with the Shansi Returned Fellow to coordinate Oberlin campus programs and events, and with the Shansi Executive Director and Assistant Director on public outreach and fundraising.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b>Requirements and Desired Qualifications<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Education and Experience:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The applicant must possess a Bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/li>\n<li>Preference will be given to candidates with experience in international communications\/relations, cross-cultural communications, education, or Asian studies.<\/li>\n<li>A successful applicant should be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively with undergraduate students, foreign nationals, college faculty and staff, and volunteers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><b>Skills and Requirements:<\/b><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Flexibility, creativity, and a passion for international exchange and development.<\/li>\n<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in website content management and Microsoft Office programs, and strong general computer skills.<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with Asian cultures as well as cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated organizational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Team-oriented, creative, and strongly motivated.<\/li>\n<li>Because a component of the position requires managing events\/ programs, weekend and evening hours will be expected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><b>Compensation:<\/b><\/div>\n<div>A competitive salary consistent with the position and the candidate\u2019s compensation history will be offered, along with generous health benefits and professional development opportunities.<\/div>\n<div><b>To Apply:<\/b><\/div>\n<div>Send cover letter, curriculum vitae (CV), and names and contact information for three references by email to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:ShansiAssistantDirectorSearch@oberlin.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">evelyn.wilkins@oberlin.edu<\/a>\u00a0with \u201cShansi Campus and Outreach Coordinator Search\u201d as the subject.\u00a0 Electronic submission is strongly preferred, but applications may be submitted by regular mail to Oberlin Shansi Assistant Director Search, Oberlin Shansi Office, 103 Peters Hall, 50 North Professor Street, Oberlin, OH\u00a0 44074.\u00a0 The deadline for applications is Monday, July 22, 2013.
