{"id":30706,"date":"2013-06-23T15:29:08","date_gmt":"2013-06-23T19:29:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jetwit.com\/wordpress\/?p=30706"},"modified":"2013-06-23T15:29:08","modified_gmt":"2013-06-23T19:29:08","slug":"job-senior-film-program-officer-at-japan-society-ny","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jetwit.com\/wordpress\/2013\/06\/23\/job-senior-film-program-officer-at-japan-society-ny\/","title":{"rendered":"Job:  Senior Film Program Officer at Japan Society (NY)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Via the Japan Society website:<\/em><\/p>\n<h2><b>SENIOR FILM PROGRAM OFFICER<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/japansociety.org\/content.cfm\/employment\">http:\/\/japansociety.org\/content.cfm\/employment<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Under the direction of the Artistic Director, and working closely with outside consultants and\/or guest curators, the Senior Film Program Officer will be responsible for the implementation of year-round film programs at the Japan Society, which includes: program planning, print booking, overall management of film\/video screening, budgeting and fundraising and financial tracking, marketing, promotion and outreach.\u00a0Responsibilities also include: identifying high-profile film directors and actors to bring to the Society&#8217;s film screening events, handling public and professional inquiries related to the Society&#8217;s Film Program, supervising a part-time Film program staff member and interns\/volunteers, and working with other programming area for special events.<\/p>\n<p><b>Qualifications<!--more--><\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Vast and deep knowledge of Japanese films, including, but not limited to, classic films, contemporary films, and documentary films;<\/li>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree and a minimum of three years related working experience in a not-for-profit organization;<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience in non-profit screening of 35 mm, 16 mm, and digital formats;<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with and interest in international cinema, and film industry;<\/li>\n<li>Creative self-starter;<\/li>\n<li>Strong writing skills in English.
