Smile Kids Japan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #0000ee\"><b><i><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.letstalkjapan.com\">Let&#8217;s Talk Japan<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0is a twice monthly, interview format podcast covering a wide range of Japan-related topics. \u00a0Host\u00a0<em><strong>Nick Harling (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/groups?mostPopular=&amp;gid=3755097&amp;trk=myg_ugrp_ovr\">Mie<\/a>-ken, 2001-03)<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0lived in Japan from 2001 until 2005, including two great years as a JET Program participant in Mie-Ken. \u00a0He practices law in Washington, D.C., and lives with his wife who patiently listens to him talk about Japan . . . a lot.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Dear JETs and JET Alumni,<\/p>\n<p>One of the main reasons I started the <strong>Let&#8217;s Talk Japan<\/strong> podcast was to highlight the positive impact JETs and JET alumni have on their local communities in Japan. \u00a0In <a href=\"http:\/\/www.letstalkjapan.com\/010-smile-kids-japan\/\"><strong>Episode 10<\/strong><\/a>, I interviewed Meredith Smith, Media and Public Relations Director for <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.smilekidsjapan.org\/\">Smile Kids Japan<\/a><\/strong>, a volunteer organization founded by JETs in Fukui Prefecture which encourages visits to orphanages in Japan. \u00a0Through its website and volunteer leadership, Smile Kids Japan helps facilitate such visits by serving as a resource for best practices. \u00a0This organization is doing amazing work, and I hope this episode helps raise its profile both in Japan and abroad.<a href=\"https:\/\/jetwit.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/small-dot.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-30355\" alt=\"small dot\" src=\"https:\/\/jetwit.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/small-dot.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"134\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>Nick<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>If you have not already done so, be sure to &#8220;Like&#8221;
