\nNorthWest Student Exchange, located in the University District of Seattle, has two job openings for those interested in international high school student exchange: International Programs Coordinator and Japan Programs Assistant. Position<\/b>: International Program Coordinator: Japan and International Programs<\/p>\n

Full-Time (Seattle) Salary DOE<\/p>\n

Responsibilities<\/b>: Coordinate international high school exchange programs with particular emphasis on Japan and East Asia.
\nAs part of the NorthWest Student Exchange team, you will coordinate programs of participants from Japan and other countries in East Asia, as well as from other parts of the world. The Program Coordinator generally will:<\/p>\n

\u2022Work with international partners, U.S. local coordinators, host families, and students to coordinate program components.
\n\u2022Ensure client welfare through problem-solving with exchange students, host families, and local coordinators
\n\u2022Accurately collect, track, and record required programmatic documents and reports
\n\u2022Screen students and host families, review applications, conduct student interviews, and liaise with international partners and families
\n\u2022Coordinate programs for both “inbound” students to the U.S. as well as “outbound” American students abroad.
\n\u2022Invoice participants and assist with monitoring accounts receivable
\n\u2022Prepare J-1 visa application and student health insurance documentation
\n\u2022Collaborate with NWSE team members on team projects such as orientations, school presentations, cultural events, and program compliance.
\n\u2022Use database and spreadsheet software to accurately maintain records so as to comply with applicable regulations<\/p>\n

\u00a0Qualifications<\/b>:
\n\u2022 Commitment to the mission of international student exchange, student welfare, and client satisfaction
\n\u2022Strong problem solving, decision-making, prioritization, analytical, and writing abilities.
\n\u2022Four-year university degree, preferably related to Japanese languages and cultures
\n\u2022Relevant experience living, studying and\/or working in Japan
\n\u2022Strong Japanese language skills (equivalent to JLPT level N2 preferred)
\n\u2022Excellent customer service\/interpersonal communication skills
\n\u2022Ability and desire to work in a dynamic, collaborative, open-office environment.
\n\u2022Strong planning and organizational skills and abilities to complete projects to deadlines.
\n\u2022Self-motivated, cooperative, detail-orientated, multi-tasker and team player with initiative
\n\u2022Two+ years in an administrative function with experience in customer service, MS office applications and databases, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
\n\u2022Experience working with diverse groups of people.<\/p>\n

Desired (but not required)
\n\u2022Experience in project management, I.T. (web) or program design, and\/or exchange program coordinating
\n\u2022Other languages (besides English and Japanese)<\/p>\n

\nNorthWest Student Exchange is a non-profit organization based in Seattle, WA that facilitates high school student exchange programs. We are currently looking for an assistant\/intern for the Asia Programs Department.<\/p>\n

Requirements<\/b>
\n\u2022 Native speaker of Japanese (Regardless of current citizenship)
\n\u2022 Ability to communicate in English on an at least intermediate level
\n\u2022 Interest in high school exchange programs between the U.S. and Japan<\/p>\n

Work Content<\/b>
\nAssistant to the Asia program’s International Programs Coordinator. Work duties include: correspondence with Japan, answering phones, data entry, Japanese-language counseling, school visits, etc.<\/p>\n

Duration<\/b>
\nCandidates who require a J-1 visa may train for up to 18 months.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Visa Requirements<\/b>
\nApplicants may have a green card with proper work authorization, U.S. citizenship, or Practical Training visa. NorthWest Student Exchange is authorized to sponsor trainees on a J-1 visa as well.<\/p>\n
