Overview:<\/b>
\nThe Institute of International Education in London is a Japanese college in the South East of London, near Greenwich. The college offers several courses in Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language, Teaching English to Young Learners, IELTS preparation and Japanese as a Foreign Language. The college has an excellent reputation with a number of notable alumni, and links to universities and other institutions across Japan.<\/p>\n

We are seeking to appoint a teacher to lead the Teaching English to Young Learners course, with Director Of Studies responsibilities for the English courses which are run here.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities will include<\/b>:
\n– Taking full charge of the Teaching English to Young Learners course, bringing your own knowledge and experience to the job.
\n– Organising cultural exchange programmes with local schools
\n– Fulfilling course administration duties
\n– Overseeing IELTS courses and maintaining records relevant to the courses
\n– Managing English teaching staff
\n– Other ad hoc duties<\/p>\n

The successful candidate will have the following qualities<\/b>:
\n– Native English speaker
\n– Degree level education
\n– A DELTA qualification (or equivalent)
\n– Extensive experience in teaching English to young Japanese learners
\n– Knowledge of English lessons in primary schools and eikaiwas in Japan
\n– Knowledge of the IELTS exam
\n– Experience working in a Japanese office environment
\n– Excellent knowledge of the English language
\n– Sensitivity to cultural difference<\/p>\n

The job is to begin in mid-April, with interviews to be undertaken before the end of March.<\/p>\n
