Just e-mail it to\u00a0<strong>jetwit [at] jetwit.com<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/illmakeitmyself.net\/2012\/09\/29\/spaghetti-squash-okonomiyaki\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/illmakeitmyself.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/09\/img_2873.jpg?w=490&amp;h=367\" alt=\"\" width=\"490\" height=\"367\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While on my <a title=\"Korinky Squash\u00a0Chijimi\" href=\"http:\/\/illmakeitmyself.net\/2012\/09\/10\/korinky-squash-chijimi\/\">squash spree<\/a> last month, I picked up a spaghetti squash, which has a great name in Japanese, too: <em>soumen kabocha<\/em> (\u305d\u3046\u3081\u3093\u304b\u307c\u3061\u3083), like soumen noodles, or <em>kinshiuri<\/em> (\u91d1\u7cf8\u74dc), \u201cgolden thread squash.\u201d This was my first time cooking this type of squash, and I had no idea what to do with it. First, I tried eating it like spaghetti and made a tomato sauce for it.\u00a0It wasn\u2019t bad, just unimpressive, though my husband thought it was some sort of Italian-seasoned coleslaw (I don\u2019t even) for the lentil burgers I had also made.<\/p>\n<p>His mistake, while tasty, didn\u2019t solve my problem for what to do with the rest of the squash. My searches of all the blogs, cookbooks, and cooking sites I use didn\u2019t turn up much in the way of other recipes that I felt like eating and I didn\u2019t have the time to hit or budget the store for more ingredients. Maybe I\u2019d use it in a \u201cleftovers\u201d food like stir-fry, or\u2013great idea #1\u2013<a href=\"http:\/\/illmakeitmyself.net\/2012\/09\/29\/spaghetti-squash-okonomiyaki\/illmakeitmyself.net\/2012\/02\/12\/kabocha-stuffed-okonomiyaki\/\">okonomiyaki<\/a>.
