Overview:<\/span><\/strong>
\nApplicant must complete the Georgia Virtual School teacher training program before being assigned a course.\u00a0 The training program will be completed online before teaching begins.\u00a0 There is not a cost for completing the training.<\/p>\n

Minimum Georgia Virtual School Teacher Certification Requirements<\/span><\/strong>:<\/strong>
\n\u2022possess a valid, Georgia teaching certificate
\n\u2022be certified in the following area(s):\u00a0 Japanese<\/p>\n

<\/strong>Requirements for Teaching:<\/span><\/strong>
\nTeachers need to have excellent computer skills and be prepared to spend more time online with students, teaching and directing learning than in a typical face-to-face classroom. Teachers will be required to complete a training program hosted by Georgia Virtual School.<\/p>\n

Please note<\/span><\/strong>:<\/strong>
\nCompletion of the training program does not guarantee a teaching assignment. Teaching and other assignments are determined by program enrollment and needs at the discretion of the GAVS administration.<\/p>\n

Preferred Qualifications<\/span><\/strong>:\u00a0 <\/strong>
\nPreference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, possess one or more of the following:\u00a0 Experience with Desire2Learn or other Learning Management System. Experience teaching and learning in online environments.<\/p>\n
