Job Description:<\/span><\/strong>
\nThe Education Abroad Advisor manages an assigned case-load of faculty-lead education abroad programs and provides support through recruiting and advising students on education abroad programs. The advisor works to provide comprehensive guidance to faculty and students through a wide range of academic and administrative responsibilities related to policies, procedures, and opportunities for education abroad programs.<\/p>\n

The advisor supports the development and administration of education abroad programs, assists with the design and delivery of pre-departure orientation sessions and re-entry programs, works successfully and collaboratively with a team of other education aboard advisors, maintains necessary records, markets and promotes programs through outreach efforts, and ensures compliance with university academic, financial, and safety standards.<\/p>\n

This position reports to the Education Abroad Coordinator, and serves as part of a team for education abroad in working closely with faculty, departments, and colleges.<\/p>\n

Minimum qualifications: <\/strong>Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience<\/p>\n

Preferred qualifications: <\/strong>Master’s degree and two years experience in an education abroad office and\/or overseas experience. Maturity, vision, strong organizational and analytical skills, high motivation and energy, cross-cultural sensitivity, excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer literacy, the ability to solve problems, collaborative team spirit, good sense of humor, solid customer service skills, and flexibility are essential.<\/p>\n
