Overview:<\/strong>
\nAyusa Study Abroad, part of Intrax Cultural Exchange, is a premier study abroad organization that has assisted more than 60,000 students from around the world to live and study, in the U.S and overseas. We are currently seeking a responsible, dynamic, dependable self-starter for an On Site Coordinator Position for our high school summer cultural exploration program in Tokyo, Japan, July 13, 2012 \u2013 August 4, 2012.<\/p>\n

The position of the On Site Coordinator directly impacts our participants\u2019 experience and in the larger scope can change lives around the world \u2013 a role that offers personal rewards. In this position, the successful candidate will support high school students as they navigate their overseas experience. We are looking for a highly energetic and responsible individual who can perform the following duties for our summer program:<\/p>\n

On-site and Pre-Departure Support<\/strong>:
\n\u2022Assist in program preparations prior to start date, approximately 20 hours
\n\u2022Escort students on international flights to and from Tokyo, Narita, including airport assistance as
\nneeded
\n\u2022Participate in pre-departure orientation in the U.S. via webinar
\n\u2022Conduct arrival orientation in Tokyo in conjunction with our Tokyo staff, focusing on safety,
\ncultural adjustment, Ayusa support and program rules and regulations
\n\u2022Provide student support throughout the duration of the program 24 hours\/day, 7 days\/week
\n\u2022Be available for regular meetings with students and provide individual support as necessary
\nincluding for natural parents
\n\u2022Facilitate effective communication between students, faculty and on-site staff
\n\u2022Assist with the mediation of conflicts between students or between students and local on-site staff
\nif necessary
\n\u2022Work closely with local Tokyo support staff on day to day program logistics and operations
\n\u2022Work with Ayusa and the local on-site staff to coordinate and manage emergency response in the event
\nof illness, accident or other types of emergencies\/natural disasters; assist in crisis management if
\nneeded
\n\u2022Accompany students on all extra-curricular activities and excursions
\n\u2022Develop and facilitate interactive activities and excursions for the students
\n\u2022Enforce Ayusa student program rules
\n\u2022Represent Ayusa in a professional and friendly manner
\n\u2022Provide Ayusa with weekly written program reposts sent via email to program manager in U.S.
\n\u2022Manage a small budget for program incidental costs, submit final expense report including all receipts at program end
\n\u2022Any other duties assigned by Ayusa<\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/strong><\/strong>
\nOur ideal candidate will possess the following skills:
\n\u2022Fluency in English and conversant in Japanese
\n\u2022Experience living in or working in Japan
\n\u2022College graduate or working towards degree
\n\u2022Able to live in Japan for the duration of the program
\n\u2022Experience working with high school aged students and leading groups
\n\u2022Passion for international exchange, travel, education
\n\u2022Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
\n\u2022High-energy, enthusiasm and motivation
\n\u2022Superior time management and multi-tasking skills, able to balance and prioritize multiple
\nresponsibilities
\n\u2022Self-starter, comfortable working independently and across cultures
\n\u2022Demonstrated flexibility
\n\u2022Passion for helping others
\n\u2022Professionalism
\n\u2022First aid certification<\/p>\n

Compensation:<\/strong><\/strong>
\nThis is a contract position that will
\n\u2022Pay a stipend of 1,200 USD
\n\u2022Meal stipend of 10 USD per day
\n\u2022Cell phone stipend up to 100 USD
\n\u2022International roundtrip flight to and from Tokyo, Japan
\n\u2022Housing, meals and excursions while on program<\/p>\n

This is a contract position; contractor will be responsible for all local income taxes in Japan and\/or country of residence.<\/p>\n
