A little over a year ago, we posted a request to the JET alumni community by\u00a0JET alum\u00a0<\/strong>Emily Metzgar<\/strong><\/a>, Assistant Professor at\u00a0Indiana University\u2019s School of Journalism<\/a>, to take part in a survey as part of her research on the impact of the JET Program. (See the\u00a0original post on JETwit<\/a>.) Here are the results of Emily’s survey in her paper titled:<\/p>\n

“Promoting Japan: \u00a0One JET at a time”<\/a> (PDF)<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The paper is about trying to measure Return On JET-vestment<\/a><\/strong>. \u00a0In its own words, it “attempts to identify various ways in which participation in JET has \u00a0affected the lives of alumni and the ways in which this influence\u00a0may be of benefit to Japan in the medium- to long-term.”<\/p>\n

Also, for those interested, there’s a review of Emily’s paper<\/a><\/strong> by Dr. Robert Banks on the University of Southern California’s Center on Public Diplomacy website.<\/p>\n
