As part of this year\u2019s Under the Radar Festival<\/a>, Japan Society<\/a> kicks off the new year with a nine-day stage run of Hot Pepper, Air Conditioner, and the Farewell Speech<\/em><\/a> and THE BEE<\/em><\/a> now through Jan. 14 and 15.<\/p>\n

Under the Radar is an annual theater festival that spotlights international artists ranging from emerging talents to masters in the field. The festival is a wild mix of works by ensembles, solo artists, writers and creators, offering a crash course in theater created by some of the most dynamic artists working today. In its seven year history, there have been 104 productions from over 17 countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt means a lot for us to be able to present both Hideki Noda\u02bcs THE BEE<\/em> and Toshiki Okada\u02bcs chelfitsch Theater Company in our first time participating in the Under the Radar Festival,\u201d said Japan Society\u2019s artistic director Yoko Shioya. \u201cThese shows truly illustrate what\u02bcs going on in Japanese experimental contemporary theater.\u201d<\/p>\n
