\nThe Asahi Shimbun is Japan\u2019s leading national daily newspaper. Based in Tokyo, it has a circulation of more than eight million. Its North American bureaus are located in New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n
\nApplicants must have a bachelor\u2019s degree. Background in economics, markets and business is highly desirable.
\nJapanese language is helpful but not required.
\nApplicant should be a current resident of the New York metro area.<\/p>\n
\nDuties include assisting our New York-based business correspondent with articles by conducting thorough background research, attending press conferences, arranging interviews, gathering business and industry-related news and monitoring investment markets. Some administrative support, such as transcribing interviews and other assignments, is also required.
\nThe position will be available in early January. Compensation includes overtime pay, excellent medical\/dental benefits, and 401(k).<\/p>\n
