\"\"Kirsten Phillips<\/strong><\/a> (Niigata-ken, 2007-08) is part of a yosa-koi<\/em><\/a> dance group that is\u00a0taking part in\u00a0another Japan Arts Matsuri (JAM)<\/strong> function on December 23rd at the Knitting Factory<\/strong>. The last one they did in Greenpoint, Brooklyn<\/strong> was very well received and a huge success.\u00a0 In Kirsten’s own words:<\/p>\n

“JAM brings Japanese\u00a0dancers, musicians, martial artists, comedians from around the city under one roof. The atmosphere is that of a traditional Japanese matsuri<\/em>, complete with taiko<\/em> and akachochin<\/em>. The one in Greenpoint\u00a0even had oden<\/em>!\u00a0\u00a0 I know it’s a little inconvenient in the middle of the week, but it’s totally worth it if you miss the way Japan throws a festival.”<\/p>\n
