{"id":2150,"date":"2008-12-09T22:29:52","date_gmt":"2008-12-09T22:29:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jetwit.com\/wordpress\/?p=2150"},"modified":"2008-12-09T22:31:22","modified_gmt":"2008-12-09T22:31:22","slug":"jetaa-book-clubs-3s-a-magic-number","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jetwit.com\/wordpress\/2008\/12\/09\/jetaa-book-clubs-3s-a-magic-number\/","title":{"rendered":"JETAA Book Clubs &#8211; 3&#8217;s a magic number"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/upload.wikimedia.org\/wikipedia\/en\/6\/62\/AlmostTransparentBlue1stEngTradePaperback.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"151\" height=\"249\" \/>After some initial research, I&#8217;ve so far found three JETAA book clubs out there:<\/p>\n<p><strong>JETAA NY<\/strong> &#8211; just being revied by Michael Glazer and Jessica Langbein after a hiatus of a few years.\u00a0 Having its first gathering this Wednesday evening (still time to rsvp!)<\/p>\n<p><strong>JETAA Northern California<\/strong> &#8211; same story, but with Melissa Chan playing the role of Michael and Jessica<\/p>\n<p><strong>JETAA Portland<\/strong> &#8211; Run by Lynnette Yasuda for the last 2 years, and with lots of success and fun.<\/p>\n<p>I knew about NY and Northern California, but I just learned about Portland after getting a nice e-mail from Lynette who shared the following sentiment:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">I think one of the best parts of the JETAA book club is that through the books we read, it sparks such interesting conversations about our own JET experiences in Japan &#8211; and I think that is what sets it apart from other book clubs.
