Applicant should have knowledge about sports, sports rules, sports regulations, sports history and a basic familiarity with players&#8217; backgrounds. Knowledge of Japanese players, especially baseball, is highly desired.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Primary duties include assisting Japanese editors and correspondents through research on current sports issues, attending press briefings and occasionally covering sports events in the New York area. Administrative tasks include writing, corresponding, editing, planning logistics for reporters, as well as arranging for, conducting and transcribing interviews.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Writing opportunities, with bylines, are possible for Kyodo&#8217;s English service.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">This is a full time position. Working hours are typically 11:00 A.M. &#8211; 7:00 P.M. Monday &#8211; Friday, with opportunities for paid overtime on occasion, depending on work load and season.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tQUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Demonstrated interest in sports required. Experience in Japan and Asian issues desired.
