\nJob Position:<\/strong> Assistant Program Director (DC)<\/p>\n

Job Details:<\/strong><\/p>\n

A well-established Japanese Media Company seeks an Assistant Program Director at their D.C.Office. The hiring company is the overseas branch of Japan’s largest commercial television network. This would be a great opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of the broadcast journalism industry for those who are interested in international relations and media. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Your role with the company:<\/strong><\/p>\n

– Assist with daily news coverage in their Washington D.C. bureau.
\n– Assist reporters in their D.C. bureau to cover daily briefings of various US Government agencies and various think tank events, tracking and researching relevant stories, preparing on various news stories, simple videography, and transmitting video footage.
\n– Monitor daily news, collect information, set up interviews, and coordinate travel arrangements for any potential news projects or breaking news.
\n– Research, coordinate, translate (English\/Japanese), edit and transmit news coverage, sports, and shows and other network affiliate
\n– Research news story ideas and create proposals and affiliates\u2019 news programs on a daily basis
\n– Travel with reporter and cameraperson to cover breaking news (sometimes on a very short notice.)
\n– Occasional use of digital camera and other recording devices.
\n– Drive automobile, company van or rental car to transport production\/news crew and production equipment during breaking news, assigned location shoots or when necessary.
\n– Monitor and maintain in-house media equipment<\/p>\n

Location:<\/strong> Washington D.C.<\/p>\n

Salary:<\/strong> 34K~38K (Non-Exempt)<\/p>\n

Working Hours:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monday through Fri, Shift – 8am to 5pm, 10:30am to 7:30pm
\n(Overtime work and weekends work may happen if necessary. You need to be very flexible.)<\/p>\n

Preferred Experience and Skills:<\/strong> <\/p>\n

– Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Media\/Communication or any other related fields
\n– English and Japanese language (speaking and reading)
\n– A valid driver\u2019s license and passport
\n– Some travel and a flexible schedule are required.
