This individual works closely with the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs, Associate Provost for Student Affairs, Student Deans, New Student Center Directors, Director of Financial Aid, International Student Advisors, and others as necessary.<\/p>\n<p><em>Duties &amp; Responsibilities: <\/em><br \/>\n\u00b7Prepares annual budget;<br \/>\n\u00b7Designs promotional materials in collaboration with MDC Media Relations\/Publications office;<br \/>\n\u00b7Develops\/maintains Web site for recruiting and exchange visitor programs;<br \/>\n\u00b7Develops a communication plan for prospective international students and coordinates the plan&#8217;s implementation by the International Student Advisors;<br \/>\n\u00b7Coordinates travel to target countries and conducts passive recruitment with key countries not visited;<br \/>\n\u00b7Maintains relations with key Dept. of State Overseas Advising Centers and Regional Educational Advising Consultants;<br \/>\n\u00b7Develops\/maintains contacts with key Consulates and Trade Centers in Miami as well as Embassies in Washington DC;<br \/>\n\u00b7Works with MDC Alumni Association to build recruiting network abroad;<br \/>\n\u00b7Assists the campuses with development and implementation of orientation and retention activities;<br \/>\n\u00b7Evaluates results of recruitment efforts and prepares annual reports for the Dept. of State on MDC Exchange Visitor Programs;<br \/>\n\u00b7Works with the College Registrar and Institutional Research to monitor applications and matriculations of international students;<br \/>\n\u00b7Coordinates MDC Exchange Visitor Programs (J-1 visa) for students, professors, short-term scholars and specialists;<br \/>\n\u00b7Serves as liaison with Dept. of State Office of Exchange Visitor Programs and SEVIS for J-1 visa program;<br \/>\n\u00b7Oversees issue, control and tracking of DS 2019 forms for Exchange Visitors after verifying their eligibility for and acceptance into the program; and<br \/>\n\u00b7Performs other such duties as assigned.<\/p>\n<p><em>Minimum Requirements: <\/em><br \/>\n\u00b7Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Marketing, Education, Psychology, or other appropriate field from a regionally accredited institution and six (6) years&#8217; experience, with at least three (3) years&#8217; experience in marketing, especially as it relates to higher education institutions, recruiting\/advising international students and\/or coordinating exchange programs; or a Master&#8217;s degree in relevant field from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years&#8217; experience in relevant field strongly preferred.<br \/>\n\u00b7The ideal candidate will bring a marketing-centered approach to the task of branding Miami Dade College for recruiting international students.<br \/>\n\u00b7Proficiency in one or more foreign languages;<br \/>\n\u00b7Possess knowledge of U.S. higher education;<br \/>\n\u00b7Possess knowledge of educational systems in other countries;<br \/>\n\u00b7Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications;<br \/>\n\u00b7Knowledge and experience with SEVIS welcomed;<br \/>\n\u00b7Possess excellent communication skills (Oral and Written);<br \/>\n\u00b7Ability to communicate and work effectively in a multi-ethnic\/multi-cultural environment;<br \/>\n\u00b7Must have demonstrated organizational and highly effective interpersonal skills;<br \/>\n\u00b7Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends;<br \/>\n\u00b7Ability and willingness to travel abroad are essential to the position; and<br \/>\n\u00b7This function\/position has been designated as Essential.
