Job Position:<\/strong> Translation Job in Woodinville (Seattle Area)<\/p>\n

Job Details:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Precor, a manufacturer of fitness equipment \u2013 including treadmills, elliptical trainers and stationary bicycles \u2013 seeks a translator to work on location at its facilities in Woodinville, WA for the duration of a translation project. The translator will be provided with an introduction to the fitness equipment\u2019s software user interface prior to translating the UI to the Japanese language. Familiarity with Qt Linguist is preferred, but not required.<\/p>\n

Successful completion of the project requires:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Translating ~800 text phrases (3000 words)<\/li>\n
  • Verifying that the text is appropriate to the context of use in the software \u2013 examples of the software UI available on request<\/li>\n
  • Refining the text to fit within the required area of the UI<\/li>\n
  • Conducting quality checks on the text strings to ensure there are no errors in spelling, punctuation or grammar<\/li>\n
  • Delivery of text file in Unix format (not DOS)<\/li>\n

    To facilitate this project, Precor will provide:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Text files in the desired format (.TS) for translation<\/li>\n
  • Desk space on location at Precor\u2019s Woodinville office<\/li>\n
  • Access to fitness equipment or a fitness equipment simulator while on location at Precor\u2019s Woodinville office<\/li>\n
  • Access to images of the software that illustrate the user interface and text while working on location and if necessary, for use remotely<\/li>\n
