The Board of Education in Kakegawa-shi, Shizuoka-ken is looking for 3 people<\/strong> for full-time jr. high positions, and 5 people<\/strong> for part-time elementary positions. Interviews begin on January 25th<\/strong>.
\nPosition-specific details are provided below.
\n
\nJunior High School Assistant Language Teacher (J-ALT) <\/strong><\/p>\n

1 Duties and Responsibilities
\n(1) Assist teaching junior high school foreign language classes
\n(2) Support in-service English education trainings
\n(3) Assist with producing English teaching materials\/activities
\n(4) Help with English speech contests
\n(5) Participate in special events
\n(6) Support and advise junior high school English teachers
\n(7) Participate in any other activities as directed and\/or requested by the teacher in charge or the principal<\/p>\n

2 Eligibility
\n(1) Be a native speaker of English
\n(2) Must have at least a 4-year university degree
\n(3) Be able to attend the interview
\n(4) Must currently reside in Japan
\n(5) Applicants with conversational Japanese speaking ability preferred
\n(6) Applicants with a current valid visa preferred
\n(7) Applicants with TEFL certification preferred
\n(8) Applicants with a valid Japanese or international license preferred<\/p>\n

3 Remuneration
\n(1) Salary: \u00a5320,000 per month (increasing to \u00a5330,000 after 2 years, \u00a5340,000 after 5 years of service)
\n(2) Japanese taxes will be paid by the city
\n(3) Half of shakai hoken (government social health insurance system) will be paid by the city
\n(4) No bonuses will be provided
\n(5) No relocation, transportation, or housing assistance will be provided<\/p>\n

4 Working Hours
\n(1) Monday – Friday, including break time, 35 hours a week.
\n(2) 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. when working at the Board of Education (including a 60 minute break)
\n(3) 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. when working at schools (including a 45 minute break)<\/p>\n

5 Method of Choosing Successful Applicants
\n(1) Only Successful candidates will be contacted for interviews
\n(2) Applicants will be screened by an interview that will include both English and Japanese<\/p>\n

2 Eligibility
\n(1) Enthusiastic, energetic individuals who have the ability to speak both English and Japanese conversationally will be considered
\n(2) Must have a valid Japanese or international license<\/p>\n

3 Remuneration
\n(1) An hourly wage of 1,640 yen (No bonuses will be provided)
\n(2) Tax payments are the responsibility of the employee
\n(3) Regular health insurance covering accidents will be provided
\n(4) Other types of compensation (housing allowance, etc), will not be provided<\/p>\n

4 Working Hours
\n(1) Monday \u2013 Friday, 5 hours per day, 190 days per year, excluding national and school holidays
\n(2) 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. when working at the Board of Education (including a 60 minute break)
\n(3) 8:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. when working at schools (including a 45 minute break)<\/p>\n

5 Other
\n(1) One year contracts with the option to renew up to five times for a maximum of five years<\/p>\n
