The Program Associate is directly involved in various aspects of the process of solicitations for grants, granting of awards, grants management and monitoring. Currently, the GSM Program manages approximately 60 multiyear grants to US based PVOs and national NGOs in over 30 countries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Specific Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Administrative<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022       Provide daily administrative support to the GSM staff by creating the monthly calendar, scheduling appointments, providing logistical support, record and disseminate meeting minutes, draft correspondence, and coordinating travel arrangements<br \/>\n\u2022       Coordinate messenger logistics<br \/>\n\u2022       Data Files<br \/>\no Prepare and maintain data files (electronically and manually)<br \/>\no Database entry and maintenance<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grants Solicitation and Award Process<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022       Assist in announcing RFAs and serve as liaison for RFA questions from potential applicants<br \/>\n\u2022       Assist with proposal reviews<br \/>\n\u2022       Process applications as they come in<br \/>\n\u2022       Review and track applications (budget amount, duration of proposed project, etc.)<br \/>\n\u2022       Compile required documents for USAID approval<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grants Management<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022       Track annual audit reports, quarterly program and financial reports and cash request report submissions, correspond with sub-grantees accordingly<br \/>\n\u2022       Process wire transfers and correspond with sub-grantees accordingly<br \/>\n\u2022       Assist in quarterly program and financial reports reviews<br \/>\n\u2022       Act as a GSM contact for sub-grantees as necessary<br \/>\n\u2022       Any other tasks that may be assigned<\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Eligible candidates should have the following qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022       Bachelors degree in International Relations, International Business or a related field<br \/>\n\u2022       Some professional experience (internship and\/or employment)<br \/>\n\u2022       Proven financial skills and Excel proficiency<br \/>\n\u2022       Strong administrative skills<br \/>\n\u2022       Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills; Ability to prioritize and multi task<br \/>\n\u2022       Ability to work as a team player and adapt to quick changing situations<br \/>\n\u2022       Excellent oral and written communication skills<br \/>\n\u2022       Excellent Microsoft Office skills<br \/>\n\u2022       Ability to work independently, make sound judgment calls, but know when to ask for advice<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u2022       Interest in finance<br \/>\n\u2022       Foreign language ability<br \/>\n\u2022       Time spent living and\/or studying abroad<\/p>\n<p><strong>Contact <\/strong><br \/>\nCandidates must submit their cover letter (stating salary history) and resume no later than close of business on September 17, 2010 to: <strong><em>liz dot allen at worldlearning dot org<\/em><\/strong> Please reference \u201cProgram Associate, GSM\u201d in the subject line.
