The candidate we are seeking will possess demonstrated cost accounting experience and knowledge.\u00a0 The Assistant Accounting Manager supports units within our client\u2019s North American sales and operations team.\u00a0 This position is based in metropolitan Orlando.<\/p>\n<p>The ideal candidate will have Japanese language skills and cultural knowledge along with the required accounting experience gained in a multi-cultural environment with excellent verbal and written communication skills honed in a team setting.\u00a0 A robust work ethic is required coupled with the organizational and time management skills necessary to manage multiple projects and activities within a deadline driven atmosphere. Candidate must also have strong analytical, math, problem solving and decision-making skills.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><br \/>\n-Analyze production statistics and cost variances, prepare of supporting analysis reports, monthly review, cost improvement.<br \/>\n-Preparation of annual budgets, variance analysis, and financial forecasting.<br \/>\n-Review transactions, entries, and other activities and instruct accounting team on the proper treatment.<br \/>\n-Prepare U.S. GAAP financial statements.<br \/>\n-Assist with month-end close.<br \/>\n-Manage staff of one (1) and internal client relationships of three (3) to five (5)<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><br \/>\n-Six (6) plus years related experience required.<br \/>\n-Japanese language skills and knowledge of Japanese culture<br \/>\n-Demonstrated experience and detailed knowledge of cost accounting principles.<br \/>\n-Knowledge of manufacturing\/packaging\/distribution processes.<br \/>\n-International operations knowledge and experience a plus.<br \/>\n-Able to apply, interpret and utilize General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)<br \/>\n-Ability to prepare detailed financial reports and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of customers and\/or employees.<br \/>\n-Past experience in the service center or macro maintenance industries, or with construction\/cost accounting in large scale environments or power utilities<br \/>\n-Some experience in materials and\/or production planning a plus.<br \/>\n-ERP knowledge and usage required, SAP experience a plus.<br \/>\n-Public Accounting a plus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Education <\/strong><br \/>\nBachelor\u2019s Degree in Accounting required.<br \/>\nCPA and\/or MBA preferred.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Compensation<\/strong><br \/>\nSalary commensurate with experience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Contact Information<\/strong><br \/>\nSend resumes to John Gill, Managing Director, Tews Professional Services &#8211; <a href=\"mailto:jgill@tewscompany.com\">jgill@tewscompany.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Job posting by Lauren Sethney (Niigata-shi CIR, 2000-2003).\u00a0 Lauren serves as the Program Director at the Japan-America Society in Dallas-Fort Worth.
