The intern provides administrative support to the Japan Society staff and helps maintain the Society&#8217;s on-line presence. This position requires a pleasant office  demeanor, good written and spoken English language skills, good organization with  an eye for detail, and a capacity to multi-task.  The intern is part of a  small team, demonstrating initiative to solve challenges. <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\n\u30fbExcellent computer skills including MS Word and Excel<br \/>\n\u30fbExperience with customized membership databases and data entry<br \/>\n\u30fbExperience with websites and social networking sites including Facebook and LinkedIn<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nDesirable Qualifications:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u30fbKnowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Dreamweaver or  similar HTML programs<br \/>\n\u30fbStrong writing and proofreading skills<br \/>\n\u30fbKnowledge of Japanese culture and\/or language<br \/>\n\u30fbAbility to work some evenings and weekends<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u30fbUpdate the Society&#8217;s website, Facebook and LinkedIn sites<br \/>\n\u30fbMaintain database<br \/>\n\u30fbAssist staff with event calendar, fundraising and membership mailings<br \/>\n\u30fbSupport Program Officer in program-related research (speakers, venues, cost estimates, etc.)<br \/>\n\u30fbCreate, post and send press releases on Society programs, classes, etc.<br \/>\n\u30fbAssist staff at Society events<br \/>\n\u30fbAdditional general administrative tasks as needed<\/p>\n<p>To apply, please submit a resume and cover letter to: <a href=\"mailto:jsnc%40usajapan.org\" target=\"_blank\">jsnc@usajapan.org<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Via JETAANC jobs yahoo group: The Japan Society of Northern California has a part-time internship available with a monthly stipend.
