{"id":11529,"date":"2010-04-21T11:11:37","date_gmt":"2010-04-21T15:11:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jetwit.com\/wordpress\/?p=11529"},"modified":"2010-04-21T11:11:37","modified_gmt":"2010-04-21T15:11:37","slug":"job-logistics-coordinator-at-viz-media-san-francisco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jetwit.com\/wordpress\/2010\/04\/21\/job-logistics-coordinator-at-viz-media-san-francisco\/","title":{"rendered":"Job: Logistics Coordinator at VIZ Media (San Francisco)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.viz.com\" target=\"_blank\">VIZ Media<\/a><\/strong>, the Japanese comic book distribution firm, has an opening for a <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.viz.com\/about\/jobs\/?id=75\" target=\"_blank\">Purchasing &amp; Logistics Coordinator <\/a><\/strong>at their San Francisco headquarters to assist the Director of Publishing within the Finance department with coordinating purchases and manage products.<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Able to research and develop new vendor relationships.<\/li>\n<li>Strong negotiation and influencing skills.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency in MS Office skills (strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint).<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of competitive and lawful bidding and awarding requirements is a PLUS.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of the regulatory factors governing purchasing such as UCC, antitrust laws and ethical principles is a PLUS.<\/li>\n<li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to maintain tact and strict confidentiality regarding all applicable programs and policies.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to provide leadership, foster camaraderie, and to work effectively in a small organization with an emphasis on teamwork.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure of deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to pay close attention to details of documentation and database pertaining to purchasing activities.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to interact with culturally diverse clients, service providers and staff.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work legally in the United States.<\/li>\n<li>Must live in or be able to commute to SF Bay Area.<\/li>\n<li>2-3 years in purchasing and\/or supply-chain-management role.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in Print\/Optical Disc\/Home Entertainment Product  Packaging procurement a PLUS.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in an international environment a PLUS.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in a publishing environment a PLUS.<\/li>\n<li>BA\/BS in a related field or an equivalent combination of skills, training, and experience showing preparation for this position.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>ROLES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assists Director of Purchasing with establishing, communicating, and maintaining company-wide purchasing policies and procedures<\/li>\n<li>Responsible for correct coding of expenditures to proper general ledger account and title coding<\/li>\n<li>Solves internal coding issues<\/li>\n<li>Issues approved purchase orders to vendors<\/li>\n<li>Processes purchase order change requests<\/li>\n<li>Assists Director of Purchasing with the process of soliciting, evaluating, and selecting potential suppliers based on best practices<\/li>\n<li>Performs monthly closing of purchasing module in accounting system<\/li>\n<li>Handles daily and weekly order processing and fulfillment of direct sales accounts<\/li>\n<li>Receives against purchase orders and monitors receipt based on documentation<\/li>\n<li>Keeps records of purchasing, receiving and logistical coordination, electronically and in physical documents<\/li>\n<li>Maintains high levels of integrity and customer service (internal and external)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>HOW TO APPLY<\/strong><br \/>\nPlease send your detailed cover letter, resume, AND salary requirements.
