The Japan Information and Culture Center (JICC), Embassy of Japan, <\/strong>is looking for a School Program Coordinator <\/strong>and a Web Master\/Office Manager<\/strong> at the Japanese Embassy in Washington D.C. \u00a0Both positions are full-time and require permission to work in the United States. \u00a0These positions will open up in mid-July.<\/p>\n

SCHOOL PROGRAM COORDINATOR<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n
<\/p>\n
ROLES:<\/span><\/div>\n
-Coordinate and present an educational program on Japan and Japanese culture for audiences ranging from<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
elementary school students to professionals<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
-Promote the school program and maintain a reservation schedule<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
-Write reports for each program in Japanese and compile data quarterly<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
-Head JICC participation in cultural events held at the JICC and off-site locations<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
-Coordinate and lead JICC participation in the Embassy Adoption Program<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
-Disseminate information on Japan to the public; respond to public inquiries on Japan<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
-Assist other JICC staff in the organization and execution of cultural events<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

QUALIFICATIONS (required):<\/span><\/div>\n
-Experience living or working in Japan<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
-Extensive knowledge of Japanese culture<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
-Strong public speaking skills and experience delivering presentations<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
-Superior communication skills and interpersonal skills<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
-Flexibility and resourcefulness; ability to multitask and take initiative<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
-Bachelor\u2019s degree in related field<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\n<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
QUALIFICATIONS (recommended)<\/strong>:<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
-Experience working with and\/or teaching children<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
-Strong proficiency in Japanese and English<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
-Strong computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

WEB MASTER \/ OFFICE MANAGER<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n
ROLES<\/strong>:<\/div>\n
-Maintaining and updating the JICC website, including graphic design, content editing, and video editing<\/div>\n
-Serving as the point of contact for building management (facilities maintenance, billing processing, and logistical<\/div>\n
-Drafting reports, letters and emails for diplomats regarding office management<\/div>\n
-Assisting with cultural events<\/div>\n
-Organizing and maintaining the JICC Reading Room<\/div>\n
-Assisting with computer-related issues<\/div>\n
-Disseminating information on Japan to the public; responding to public inquiries on Japan<\/div>\n
QUALIFICATIONS (required)<\/strong>:<\/div>\n
-Strong computer skills<\/div>\n
-Experience with web-related programming, Adobe Dreamweaver and Photoshop<\/div>\n
-Superior communication and interpersonal skills<\/div>\n
-Flexibility and resourcefulness; ability to multitask and take initiative<\/div>\n
-Bachelor\u2019s degree in relevant field<\/div>\n
QUALIFICATIONS (recommended)<\/strong>:<\/div>\n
