lTOCHU International<\/strong>, a Japanese trading company, is looking for a full-time Policy and Business Research Associate<\/strong> for their office in Washington D.C. Japanese language and work experience is preferred, but not required.<\/p>\n

DUTIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • Conduct research and prepare reports on trade and investment policy, country risk, foreign affairs, and other domestic and international policy issues.
    \nAssociate will also conduct market research and provide business development support in technology and other sectors.<\/p>\n

    Conduct policy analysis and reporting, including contributions to regular office publications. Topics cover a range of issues in US trade, investment, foreign and security policy. Responsibility may include assignment to monitor, analyze and report on specific topics on an on-going basis. Requires networking and primary research using a wide range of sources in Washington DC.<\/p>\n

    Conduct research and prepare reports on US federal, state and local policies relevant to new business development, including infrastructure spending, R&D funding, and other incentives and policies to promote specific industries.<\/p>\n

    Conduct research and provide business development support related to technologies, companies and markets of interest. Conduct primary and secondary research and draft final reports. Perform company\/technology scouting and evaluation, industry networking, and company visits.<\/li>\n

    QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • o\tMasters in international affairs or related field
    \no\tMinimum two years work experience
    \no\tStrong business and policy research skills
    \no\tStrong writing and communication skills
    \no\tComfort with and interest in technology and business-related subjects
    \no\tTeam player with good interpersonal skills, as well as self-starter who is able to work well independently
    \no\tDetail oriented; able to multi-task and meet deadlines
    \no\tComfortable in multi-cultural professional setting
    \no\tJapan experience and \/ or Japanese language ability a plus<\/li>\n
