The Asian Cultural Council<\/a><\/strong> is looking for a Program Associate<\/a><\/strong> <\/a>to start immediately. \u00a0The foundation was established thirty years ago to promote cultural exchange between the United States and Asian countries through individual artistic grants and local programs. \u00a0Fluency in an Asian language and a graduate degree are preferred, but not required. \u00a0Compensation is $35,000-$40,000 per year plus full benefits including medical, dental, vision and transit. A 401K plan will begin after six months of employment.<\/p>\n

DUTIES:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\tManages online application process, sending out applications, processing completed applications, (letters of references, grant notification letters, etc.)
\n\u2022\tSupports Program Officers in New York on all aspects of day-to-day program activities
\n\u2022\tArranges individual overall program plans that will enable grantees to meet their goals and develop in their careers, including arranging meetings, residencies, and travel etc.
\n\u2022\tCreates and manages grantee budgets and tracks overall program budget
\n\u2022\tWorks closely with Manager of Grantee Programs to handle grantee logistical plans, including apartment set up, local travel, setting up of bank accounts, visas etc.
\n\u2022\tWorks with program staff to evaluate applications, meet applicants, correspond with references, make funding recommendations and write grant notification letters
\n\u2022\tWrites reports recommending candidates for fellowships for review by ACC Board of Trustees
\n\u2022\tMaintains grantee entries in the ACC database; assists in generating declination and postponement letters, lists, reports, etc.
\n\u2022\tRegularly attends performances\/exhibitions<\/p>\n

QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong>
\n\u2022\tAt least three years of arts administration, programming, and\/or related experience
\n\u2022\tProfessional experience working with artists from Asia, travel and\/or work in Asia
\n\u2022\tExcellent writing\/verbal communication skills, computer skills (both PC and Mac platforms)
\n\u2022\tFamiliarity with data base systems (Filemaker Pro, GIFTS, etc.)
\n\u2022\tWork experience in cultural exchange and non-profit organizations a plus
\n\u2022\tSpoken fluency and written proficiency in an Asian language a plus
\n\u2022\tGraduate degree preferred<\/p>\n
