Many thanks\u00a0to JET alumna Abigail MacBain for compiling these and bringing them to our attention.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><strong>Fulbright<\/strong> offers\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fulbright.jp\/eng\/scholarship\/usa_about.html\">grants for various activities<\/a>, including support for 12 months of <a href=\"https:\/\/us.fulbrightonline.org\/countries\/selectedprogram\/37\">Master&#8217;s Degree study<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">MEXT \/\u00a0Monbukagakusho fellowships are available for study in Japan. Information on these can be\u00a0found on their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.studyjapan.go.jp\/en\/toj\/toj0302e.html\">main website<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.us.emb-japan.go.jp\/english\/html\/mext-scholarship-info.html\">US Embassy website<\/a>, and other embassy and consulate websites.<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>International Relations \/ Policy \/ Language \/ Cultural Study<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.american.edu\/sis\/sisabroad\/gdualdegree\/ru.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">American University &#8211; Ritsumeikan<\/a> <\/strong>(Kyoto) &#8211; A graduate dual degree program for students fluent in both English and Japanese. Students begin their studies at American University&#8217;s School of International Service and complete their second year of study at the Graduate School of International Relations at Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan. Graduates receive simultaneously a master&#8217;s degree from the School of International Service and a master&#8217;s degree from Ritsumeikan University&#8217;s Graduate School of International Relations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.american.edu\/cas\/education\/itep\/index.cfm\">American University<\/a><\/strong> (Washington, D.C.) &#8211;\u00a0The American University School of Education has partnered with US JET Alumni Association to offer graduate degree options to affiliated participants. SIT now offers a scholarship covering 30% of tuition costs for eligible current and former JETs. They also have a special &#8220;low-residency&#8221; MA in TESOL program for current JETs, and will waive the application fee for all applicants. See their website for details: <a href=\"https:\/\/graduate.sit.edu\/academics\/affiliations\/jet-programme\/\">https:\/\/graduate.sit.edu\/academics\/affiliations\/jet-programme\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.soas.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS)<\/a> <\/strong>(London, UK)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hawaii.edu\/sls\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Second Language Studies M.A. Program, University of Hawai&#8217;i at Manoa<\/a> <\/strong>&#8211; A great program, according to Leslie Reynolds (Niigata-ken, 2005-07) who is an M.A. candidate and reports that there are several other former JETs in the program as well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong><a href=\"www.schooloftesl.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">School of Teaching English as a Second Language<\/a> <\/strong>(in cooperation with Seattle University&#8217;s College of Education) &#8212; Seattle University and the School of Teaching ESL have created a cooperative agreement that gives students several choices regarding professional development in teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL).<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.maxwell.syr.edu\/\"><strong>Syracuse University &#8211;\u00a0Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs<\/strong> <\/a>&#8211; The Department of Public Administration and International Affairs has partnered with JETAA to offer the <strong>Maxwell PAIA &#8211; JET Alumni Scholarship<\/strong>. This scholarship\u00a0covers at least 30% of tuition costs for a single- or dual-degree\u00a0course of study\u00a0in Maxwell&#8217;s Master of Public Administration or Master of Arts in International Relations on-campus programs. The offer includes the option to defer admission for one year and to be considered for further merit-based aid based on the strength of the\u00a0application for admission.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tuj.ac.jp\/default.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Temple University &#8211; Japan Campus<\/strong><\/a> (Tokyo) &#8211; Offers MBA, Law and Ms.Ed.\/Ed.D. in TESOL degrees. JET alumni are eligible for a 10 percent discount on tuition for their Continuing Education Program, a 50,000 yen scholarship for their MBA Program, and an entrance fee waiver.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.birmingham.ac.uk\/index.aspx\"><strong>The University of Birmingham <\/strong><\/a>&#8211; Offers MA courses in TESOL or Applied Linguistics. Used to offer a tuition discount for currently or recently employed JETs, but doesn&#8217;t seem to anymore.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usfca.edu\/\"><strong>University of San Francisco<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; Offers an MA in TESOL.
