We are looking for bilingual fixers / drivers to support broadcast media teams in Tokyo.

Location: Tokyo and environs

Period: July / August / September 2020 for a minimum of two weeks

Time: Various depending on client needs

Pay: From Y2,500 / hour depending on experience. Day rates from Y27,000. Please enquire.

Transport: Up to Y1,000 per day commute allowance

Job description:

Linguists with a good local knowledge of Tokyo will be supporting visiting media teams throughout their time in Japan. Staff must be able to drive and communicate smoothly in Japanese and one of the following – English (main) / French / German / Portuguese.

The role is varied and may include some or all of the following – Facilitating communication between Japanese and non-Japanese speakers, supporting the team on location, moving equipment, driving the film crew / VIPs to and from appointments, admin support, research, shopping, other tasks requested by the film crew.

Qualifications / Experience:

JLPT Level 2 / Eiken Level 2 or equivalent / good communication skills Driving licence (class 2 licence welcomed!)

The candidate must have:

  • the right to work in Japan (Japanese work visa)
  • ability to manage their own time
  • a can-do attitude and a good sense of responsibility
  • strong sense of team spirit
  • a positive attitude and the drive to succeed

Runners: No experience necessary! Training will be provided Drivers only: cars will be provided
