Thanks to JET alum, Cameron Katamari (Chiba-ken) for sharing another job opening with his agency:

Hi, we’re WHM. We’re a small, but mighty team of marketing strategists, creative visionaries, designers, copywriters and account managers who solve problems — and we do it creatively. Our mission is to rid the B2B marketing world of “blah”, and in doing so, we take the following approach:

We run from run of the mill. We run from lazy marketing. We run from safe. From jargon. From boring. We run toward unexpected, educated, and compelling solutions that solve problems.

We’re powered by curiosity. We’re curious about data, about facts, about the story behind the story, and about the people we’re trying to reach. We transform all that information into insight and truly bold creative that delivers.

We play the long game. We’re hyper-focused on producing the best work possible and doing what’s right for our clients.  And, we think that process and profit should never get in the way of that.

At WHM, we believe in four things:

  • Good People
  • Hard Work
  • Creative Genius
  • Happy Clients

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a curious, optimistic, and resourceful Project Manager with a team-player mentality that’s equal parts assertive and collaborative. Project Managers who succeed at WHM are driven to solve challenging problems and inspire their colleagues to produce their best work every day. They have an entrepreneurial spirit, owning projects end-to-end, with an eye for details, efficiency – and the bottom line. Our team of Project Managers are pure naturals when it comes to nurturing client relationships through standout service – and just the right amount of charm and fun. And they have an innate ability to identify potential risks and roadblocks, anticipate needs, and spot new opportunities.

WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON

Working with an intimate cross-functional team of in-house and freelance creatives, strategists, and techies, you’ll be managing a range of projects for one of our largest technology clients (yes, that means you enjoy geeking out over complex and nerdy topics). Integrated campaigns, digital media, content creation, mar-tech implementation—it’s all up for grabs and it’s all in your wheelhouse.

As the link between WHM and our clients, you’ll be the owner of day-to-day client relationships and delivery of projects, driving the team to meet agreed upon timelines and budgets for the full project lifecycle.

More specifically, you’ll:

  • Maintain all project documentation, including project briefs and estimates, technical documentation, status reports, client presentations, feedback, and approvals
  • Author, assign, and manage creative tasks in Asana
  • Create, update, and manage schedules
  • Schedule meetings with stakeholders and capture/distribute action items to team
  • Lead status meetings
  • Track burn rates on active projects
  • Partner with resource manager to match talent to client needs – and secure creative resources for projects through our internal planning tool
  • Shepherd projects through the creative development process

Your arsenal of tools will include Asana, Box, Function Point, Microsoft Office, and Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drive. Knowledge of Marketo is also a plus.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

We welcome applicants with varied backgrounds, strong problem solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and a can-do attitude along with the following attributes and experience:

  • Proficient knowledge of project management lifecycles and best practices
  • 3+ years experience in a project management and/or account management role preferably within an in-house marketing team or creative agency environment.
  • Expertise in managing digital campaigns, content creation, demand gen, website design & development projects
  • Superior client services experience, managing a minimum of 3 clients at a time
  • The ability to articulate how the clients’ business objectives and marketing strategy translate to client needs and to creative and technical actions
  • Effective management of project plans, timelines, and schedules with meticulous organizational skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, leveraging knowledge of services, processes, tools, technology and collaboration with leaders and team members to get to resolution fast
  • A confident communication style with solid presentation and active listening skills
  • A facility with numbers and the proven ability to manage estimates, budgets and invoicing
  • Curiosity, self-motivation and resourcefulness
  • Team player—we rely on each other to fulfill our client commitments and function as a high performing team
  • Positive outlook and attitude – no negative nellies please
  • A fire for making things happen and a belief that execution is the fun part
  • The ability to adapt and the willingness to go the extra mile when project deadlines necessitate it
  • Accountability and veracity – as a client-service organization, we stand on our relationships and our word
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Mac OS and Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s degree

If you’re ready to move at lightning speed and never have two days alike, shoot us your resume and answer the following 5 questions:

QUESTION 1: Managing stakeholder expectations

As an agency continually juggling multiple creative requests from different clients, we often encounter situations where we can’t deliver a project to a client’s schedule. How would you manage your client’s expectation when you know that you know you can’t meet their needs as originally scoped (i.e. project deadline needs to be pushed out)?

QUESTION 2: Learning the client’s “language”

At WHM we work with many clients in the tech field (Apple, Qlik, Orig3n, VMware) that often have complex, highly technical products that we need to market. While no one is ever expected to understand the complete inner workings of a “cloud computing and platform visualization software and service” (for example) – you do need to be able to understand the fundamentals of what the company does, and the language they use. What process do you use for getting up to speed with new or unfamiliar projects or companies outside of your knowledge base?

QUESTION 3: Prioritization

What do you do when two projects are due at the same time?

QUESTION 4: Your values

At WHM, we are very proud of our company values, which include (but aren’t limited to): Pushing the status quo, Resourcefulness, Positivity, Curiosity, and Accountability. Of these values which ONE resonates most with you, and why?

QUESTION 5: You start date

What is your start date for a new job?
