Purpose of the Role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Language Coordinator to lead a fast-growing team of translators / subtitlers. Reporting to the Head of Localization, the Coordinator will manage a team working on a high volume contract. They must be very well organized, able to manage their own time and priorities, and communicate effectively with both team members and management.

The Coordinator is the primary point of contact for multiple freelancers, and the ability to build strong relations and manage expectations in this highly demanding and fast paced industry is vital.

Principal Duties

  • Coordinate translation, subtitling and quality control of TV show / movie files
  • Assist the global team with recruitment and management of in-house and freelance linguists
  • Hiring and training new recruits and feeding back to linguists
  • Ensure timely deliveries to clients
  • Facilitate project workflow and help manage the language database
  • Work closely with a global network of coordinators

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Essential
    • Competence with Mac, PC and MS Word, Excel and databases
    • Fluent in English
    • Minimum one year experience of language project coordination
  • Beneficial
    • Recruitment experience
    • Professional translation skills
    • Knowledge of subtitling software
    • Familiarity with subtitle quality control
    • Latin American Spanish (primary language)

  • Working under pressure – able to maintain close attention to detail, multi-task and deliver to tight deadlines. Works pro-actively and on own initiative in high a pressure, fast-paced environment. Open to alternative ways of working

  • Organization – excellent organizational, analytical and problem solving skills. Resourceful. Punctual and able to manage own time

Job Type: Full time 1 year contract (shorter term also considered)

Hours of Work: MondayFriday  0930 – 1730 (earlier / later starts also considered)
