Established in 1907, New York’s Japan Society is an internationally recognized nonprofit, nonpolitical organization that provides access to information on Japan, offers opportunities to experience Japanese culture, and fosters sustained and open dialogue on issues important to the United States, Japan, and East Asia.

The Development Assistant provides administrative support for Corporate Giving, primarily focused on maintaining Corporate records in the Raiser’s Edge database.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Update and maintain all Corporate records in the Raiser’s Edge database.
  • Generate Corporate Member employee mailing lists as needed.
  • Generate and edit Membership renewal and gift acknowledgment letter drafts, invoices, receipts and envelopes via mail merge from Raiser’s Edge.
  • Prepare meeting material for corporate visits (assemble information packets, create profiles and employee event participation reports).
  • Field inquiries via Corporate Membership phone lines, email inboxes, providing member service/ troubleshooting as necessary while referring more complex inquiries to appropriate Japan Society staff.
  • Assist team with fulfilling Corporate Member benefit obligations and requests, including updating complimentary mailing lists and producing and sending gallery passes.
  • Maintain Corporate Member files.
  • Work with Database manager to ensure the integrity of Corporate data, including merging duplicate records.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one to two years administrative experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with data entry and database processing required knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or similar databases preferred.
  • Knowledge of Japanese culture a plus.

Hours:

This is a part-time position with a regular weekday schedule of approximately 20 hours per week.
