The Global Master of Arts Program (GMAP) at The Fletcher School at Tufts University is a one-year graduate program in international affairs for mid- and senior-level professionals, which combines residency sessions, internet-mediated collaboration and faculty-produced multimedia content. GMAP is designed to provide unique global affairs educational opportunities to professionals who wish to continue working while studying.

Provides advanced support and coordination for a university Program or Project. Produces a variety of documents, reports and proposals, responds to inquiries and provides detailed information to constituents. Organizes and maintains files and databases; designs and updates applications or other forms for data entry. May assist in updating website and posting social media material. Participates in development of program or project marketing and communications materials, coordinates logistics for meetings and events including travel and arrangements for speakers, provides research assistance, and monitors budgets.

In particular, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for:
• Assumes responsibility for the logistics of three residencies each year – one international and two local (working with caterers, Tufts Conference Bureau, Tufts Facilities, hotels, and other venues, as well as various vendors to ensure smooth handling of the GMAP residencies; coordinating and making travel arrangements for faculty and staff for the residencies, etc).
• Coordination of course materials for the program (working with faculty to organize syllabi and meet deadlines for submission of materials and final grades; ordering books and other materials; obtaining copyright permissions; and mailing books and materials.)
• Providing other general support to the Associate Director (including organization, timely bill payments, etc).
• Assisting the Associate Director with discussion board supervision and course assignment submission, as well as with any other related student services issues, when necessary.
• Providing back-up support to the Senior Associate Dean, and to other members of the GMAP staff, when necessary.
Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• High School diploma and 5+ years of related experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 0-3 years of related office experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Knowledge of or experience in subject matter preferred.
Special Work Schedule Requirements:
This position requires some evening work, domestic, and international travel.

Description:
This Assistant Director (AD) position is responsible for the recruitment and admission of freshman and transfer applicants from specific countries or regions outside the United States, and includes international recruitment travel. The international AD is also responsible for the evaluation and file review for freshman and transfer applications from any country outside the US as needed.  This position is responsible for assisting with the coordination and staffing of on-campus programs and online events for prospective students, and for supporting domestic recruitment travel when needed.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of professional experience including a minimum of two years of demonstrated international admissions, file review, transcript evaluation, credentials evaluation, and international recruitment experience
  • Knowledge of trends and best practices in international education
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the evaluation of international secondary and post-secondary (bachelor’s degree) educational credentials and transcripts
  • Demonstrated cross-cultural communication skills, writing and public speaking ability, problem-solving ability, events and overseas travel planning, public relations, customer service, and computer skills are essential.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Regional expertise in Latin America and/or South and East Asia areas.

The Assistant Director of International Admissions, as a representative of the university to diverse cultures and populations within the U.S. and around the world, must demonstrate highly developed interpersonal, cross-cultural and public speaking skills. Organizational skills to conduct demographic, geographic and historical research, as it pertains to American University’s applicant trends, are essential. The ability to successfully mentor and supervise student assistants is required. The incumbent is expected to be able to work independently, take initiative, and be an active member of the International Admissions team. The Assistant Director of International Admissions contributes to the team-oriented environment within the Office of Enrollment. The position requires significant travel internationally and within the U.S., a passport for travel outside the U.S., and work on evenings and weekends.Hiring offers for this position are contingent on the successful completion of a background check.

Responsibilities The Program Assistant is a key member of the Vaccine Delivery team, and provides a wide and varied range of administrative and organizational support for up to five senior level managers. Efficiency, attention to detail, flexibility and good judgment to ensure smooth operations of the team are critical in this role. Primary responsibilities are listed below.
• Providing a wide variety of administrative support including complex calendar management, travel planning, event planning, document creation and organization and maintenance of files including:
• Scheduling of high volume of domestic and international appointments and meetings for one or more colleagues, including participant coordination and facilitation of both on and off-site logistics.
• Acting as a liaison with internal and external partners, grantees, government officials and consultants, answering and prioritizing telephone calls, email and mail communications.

Qualifications • A minimum of three years’ work experience in an office setting, preferably in an administrative role for a complex and fast-paced organization, interacting intensively with internal and external contacts.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
• Experience setting priorities and meeting deadlines, and balancing the needs of multiple individuals.
• Experience with calendaring, travel arrangements, and event/meeting planning coordination.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in an environment requiring diplomacy and good judgment in managing interactions with individuals at all levels, inside and outside an organization.
• Ability to problem solve through situations that have undefined boundaries, lack of clarity or missing information.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office is required, in particular MS Outlook. Previous experience using MS SharePoint preferred, but not required. Experience in learning new software applications.
