Position: Development Intern – Corporate Membership and Sponsorship

Japan Society’s Development office is seeking a fall 2016 intern to assist with daily operations related to Corporate Giving. Working closely with the Corporate Giving team, this is an excellent opportunity to gain firsthand experience in corporate fundraising at an internationally-recognized nonprofit cultural organization with a distinguished history of more than 100 years.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting in the development of Corporate Membership and Sponsorship marketing materials

  • Assisting with distribution of complimentary gallery passes to Corporate Members

  • Assisting with Corporate Membership thank you letters, renewals and other mailings

  • Conducting research on current and prospective donor corporations

  • Assisting in updating donor database

  • Assisting at various Business and Policy Programs (evening lectures, lunches, etc.), and other Japan Society special events (gallery openings, receptions, Young Professionals Network events, etc.)

  • Completing general administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Extremely detail-oriented and organized

  • Proficient in Word and Excel

  • Interest in Japan and Japanese business and culture a plus

  • Flexible weekday schedule, approximately 20 hours per week
