Embassy English, a world leader in English language education, is looking for dynamic and resourceful teachers for our main school in Midtown Manhattan. Teachers are responsible for delivering innovative lessons in English-language skills using our established curriculum to students of all ages. Our teachers receive ongoing training in the latest ESL methodologies, technologies and practices. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Teach up to 25 hours per week
  • Review, grade and mark student work and provide students with substantial and serviceable feedback on that work including any and all exams
  • Establish, promote and maintain a focused and productive classroom learning environment
  • Promote student conduct in-line with policies detailed in the student handbook
  • Provide formal, written reports on students’ progress both mid-semester and at the end of each semester
  • Participate in staff meetings, as called by the Center Director or Academic Manager
  • Contribute to and participating in staff development sessions held in-Center

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least one year of ESL classroom teaching experience
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Enthusiastic, punctual and organized

Desired Qualifications:

  • CELTA, DELTA or other teaching qualification with practical training
  • Experience teaching ESL to teens and adults
  • Proficiency in classroom technology, including digital whiteboards 
  • Flexibility to teach in the mornings and/or afternoons
