Ritsumeikan Uji Junior and Senior High School strives to build the ideal leaner and person through all of its educational activities. Qualification Requirements: 

  1. Completed undergraduate studies and has relevant academic and/or professional experience (e.g. B.A., M.A., and teaching experience in Science (Biology or Chemistry) by March 31st , 2016.
  2. Holds a Japanese high school teaching certification (preferred, but the school can assist the successful candidate in obtaining the certification)
  3. Holds a teaching certification in home country (preferred)
  4. IB Workshop certified (DP Biology or DP Chemistry)
  5. Able to start April 1st , 2016

Required Application Materials:

  1. Current CV (A4 size designated with ID photo attached)

  2. Cover letter stating your reason for application (A4 size)
  3. Copies of all university diplomas, both undergraduate and graduate
  4. Academic transcripts from undergraduate and graduate institutions
  5. Copies of all teaching certificates (e.g. TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, etc.), as well as a copy of your home country teaching certification, if you have one.
  6. A copy of your IB Certification
  7. A copy of the front and back sides of your resident card. (In the case of overseas applicants, please send a copy of ID card or passport)
  8. A self-addressed reply envelope (size:12 cm×23.5 cm) to which a 242 yen stamp has been affixed. (Domestic residents only)

Recruitment Exam:

  1. First-Stage: Applicant document screening The school may conduct a telephone pre-interview with certain candidates.
  2. Second-Stage: Sample lesson and interview at Ritsumeikan Uji High School In the case of an applicant based overseas, an online interview may be conducted.

No transportation allowance can be offered to cover these costs. The successful candidate’s appointment is contingent upon a successful health examination prior to taking up the position

Conditions and Remuneration: 

  1. The contract will run for one (1) year, from April 1st , 2016 through March 31st , 2017. The contract can be renewed a maximum of four (4) times after the first contract upon mutual agreement between employer and employee.
  2. The contract is administered in accordance with the various regulations of the Ritsumeikan Educational Corporation in effect as of April 2015.
  3. Monthly Salary: 380 thousand yen (First year)
  4. Allowance: Transportation allowance, Research allowance, Health insurance, etc
