Overview: 

The JET Desk in the UK at the Embassy of Japan seeks a highly qualified former JET Programme participant who can provide support on running the JET Programme in the UK – and related activities as a member of the JET Desk team. Main Duties:

  • Working as part of a team handling promotional activities, application processes and inquires related to the JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) Programme.
  • Providing efficient administrative and logistical support to run the JET Programme in the UK, such as handling correspondence, managing databases, arranging university visits.  

Requirements:

The duties to be performed vary from team administration to interactions with external organisations/individuals, under the direction of the relevant line manager. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following competences:

  • Strong IT skills (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint etc)
  • Superb Public Speaking skill
  • A good eye for detail
  • Commitment to working for the JET Programme in the UK
  • Ability to write and speak in a professional manner
  • Organisational skills

Time management in a highly busy office

  • Ability to be flexible and creative when circumstances change
  • Working collaboratively in a team, sharing information and building supportive, responsive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders

Salary: £11 per hour

Start Date: July 2015
