Job Descriptions:
1) The Coordinator of Education Abroad reports to the Director of Education Abroad and is the key link between AMIDEAST Headquarters in Washington, DC and institutions sending students on AMIDEAST sponsored programs as well as with AMIDEAST field office staff members delivering programs in the Middle East and North Africa.  The Coordinator is involved in all aspects of AMIDEAST’s education abroad programs, supervises the work of Program Assistant(s) and Program Officer(s), and serves as acting director in the absence of the Director.

2) The Program Assistant reports to the Education Abroad Coordinator and supports program activity in education abroad, in addition to providing general administrative support for senior and program staff. The Program Assistant provides key financial backstopping for AMIDEAST sponsored programs in the Middle East and North Africa.

(4) Assistant Dean for International Programs at Wofford College (SC)

Wofford College is seeking an Assistant Dean for International Programs. This position reports to the Dean of International Programs and is responsible for coordinating study abroad efforts at Wofford College. The Assistant Dean of International Programs coordinates all short term study abroad opportunities, serves as an advisor for study abroad, and leads marketing initiatives within the Office of International Programs. In addition, this staff member serves as risk manager and leads the Office of International Programs in crisis management overseas. This position serves as the administrator of AU Abroad information systems. The incumbent acts as the point person in areas of database administration, technical support, program enhancements, reports and training associated with the information system. The position is responsible for managing AU Abroad websites and developing web based tools to promote study abroad. Responsible for producing, editing, updating and posting content in various social media outlets.

Educational Requirements:

The International Programs Office at The University of Tampa has an opening for an Education Abroad Advisor to work in a fast-paced environment counseling students on UT’s portfolio of education abroad options including UT travel courses, semester/year abroad, international internships, student research abroad, language abroad and community service learning abroad. The advisor also assists faculty in the development and coordination of materials and programs that engage and promote education abroad. The Education Abroad Advisor will report directly to the Associate Dean of International Programs.

Responsibilities:
1. Counsel and advise education abroad students on issues related to academic issues, prerequisites, transfer credits, medical insurance and cultural adjustment.
2. Assist with record keeping and maintenance of databases, Studio Abroad, to ensure accuracy of student enrollments and monetary deposits in education abroad programs.
3. Manage diverse portfolio of short term faculty-led programs.
4. Assist with tracking outcomes assessment measures including student evaluations of education abroad experiences.
5. Communicate UT’s education abroad policies and procedures including emergency preparedness and crisis management to faculty, students, staff and parents.
6. Monitor and enforce education abroad policies and procedures with faculty, students, staff parents and alumni.
7. Monitor international travel warnings, alerts and public announcements.
8. Assist with the development and revision of materials (i.e. newsletters, electronic newsletters, Blackboard site) and information sessions to keep students, staff and faculty informed on education abroad policies and procedures.
9. Help organize education abroad displays, information and promotional materials in print and electronic forms.
10. Help plan and further develop fall and spring semester education abroad fairs, information sessions, pre-departure sessions, and re-entry.
11. Co-advise student organization involving education abroad alumni.
12. Assist with the development and enhanced coordination of education abroad programming.
13. Attend and make presentations on education abroad programs at recruiting events, open houses, orientations, information sessions, pre-departure orientations etc.
14. Interface with 3rd party education abroad service providers to review contracts and liability forms.
15. Monitor IPO budgets and provide periodic summaries/reports of IPO activities and financial performance including monitoring office and copier supplies and preparing purchase and check requisitions.
16. Perform basic office functions and other duties as assigned including answering phones, typing check requisitions, ordering office supplies and calendaring items.

The successful candidate will have:
1. Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
3. Experience using Studio Abroad Database system required
4. Counseling or advising experience in an International Programs Office in a university setting preferred
5. Highly proficient in Microsoft office products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

The University seeks a Manager to provide leadership and administration of the University’s ongoing international and domestic study away programming. The manager is responsible for developing and administering policies, programs and integrated services to advance opportunities for students to participate in a diverse range of academic programs; working with faculty and staff to incorporate study away into the curricula; and providing direct, integrated student services and advising. The manager also administers the application process for all semester and summer term programs, as well as reviews all applications for admission. The manager will also provide pre-departure services for all semester and summer program participants; necessary support related to student issues while abroad, including parental concerns, behavioral concerns, health concerns and crisis response; and necessary support to students upon their return to PhilaU, including assistance with processing foreign transcripts and transfer credits. The manager also works closely with the Bursar and the Financial Aid Office, providing relative reports when necessary. Some domestic and international travel is required in this role. Intermittent evening and weekend work is also required.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• At least five years of experience working within a study abroad or international programs office within a higher education institution.
• Experience working, living and/or studying overseas.
